Sports Report

Campaspe Athletics

Monday 11th September saw 80 students qualify and attend the Campaspe Athletics in Bendigo.

Our students represented the school on all track and field events and the day saw many students being very competitive and some amazing results were achieved.  Congratulations to all students on their display or comradeship and effort. It was great seeing the students enjoying competing and representing the school.

Special mention to Luke Caine who broke the boys 12-13 YO Shot Put record.  Luke also broke the record at our School Athletics so we look forward to watching his journey at the upcoming Loddon Mallee Region Athletics.

A big congratulations to Lily Kettle who was joint winner of the Geoff Ringin Award for her amazing effort in participating in, and winning, five track and field events and will now represent the school at the LMR level in 100m, 200m 800m, 1500m and Triple Jump events!  Congratulations Lily and good luck at the LMR level.

Good luck to our 21 students who all qualified for the next level in Bendigo on Thursday 12th October.

Netball

Our Year 8 and Senior netballers ventured to Melbourne to compete in the Netball Victoria finals competition over the last couple of weeks.

Both our teams played with great courage, determination and team spirit.

The Year 8 Girls won one out of their 7 games however were a couple of team members down due to injuries and the number of winning games did not reflect the couple of really close games, going down by only a couple of goals in three games.

Our Senior Girls also played some amazing netball however the opposition were better on the day.  They too, lost a few games with only one turn over resulting in being a couple of goals down at the final siren.

Thank you to Ms Belinda Lees and Ms Ash Mangan for coaching the girls and getting them to Melbourne safely.
