Around the College

Holiday Reminder

In case you had forgotten, our upcoming school holidays don't align precisely with other local schools, and we recognise that this may require planning and preparation for some families.

Please ensure that you are prepared for this adjusted schedule, in particular with the bus network as there may be an impact for some students.

Our holidays commence on Monday 28th June and conclude on Monday 12th July - which makes NEXT Friday (25 June) the final day of Term 2.

School Photo Day

School Photo Day is fast approaching!

To ensure our photographs are as inclusive as possible, we ask that parents/guardians please be mindful when booking appointments or arranging holidays.

Busselton Campus will be on Tuesday, 20th July 2021 for Kindy to Year 12.

Dunsborough Campus will be on Wednesday, 21st July 2021 for Kindy to Year 6.

Formal winter uniform will apply; including red jumper with current logo for all students in Years 3-12 irrespective of Campus.

Thanks for your help!

Staffing changes

As we close off the term, there's a few staff movements we can communicate with our families.

Jenny Moorcroft:

Firstly, after decades of service to our students and families, Mrs Moorcroft is hanging up her apron.  Mrs M, along with Mr Cameron were the very first staff to commence in our High School back in 1992.  Mrs Moorcroft has blessed generations of students with her home economic skills, with former graduates having their own children then experience her expertise in the classroom.

Mrs Moorcroft has left a huge legacy behind her. Countless homes have been blessed with the skills she has imparted. We wish her the very best as she steps into new adventures beyond the classroom, but know she will be deeply missed.

Mrs Danelle Watson is stepping in to replace Jenny and we are grateful she has joined us.

Frik Stuart:

Over the past few years, our Business Management role has been overseen by Mr Frik Stuart.  Frik has played a key part in College life as part of our executive team, but due to our Head Office now taking over key parts of his role, Frik is sadly leaving us.

Thank you Frik for your hard work and contribution to the College during your time here. We also pray God's blessings and provision over you as you move into new adventures of your own.

Stepping into a Finance Officer position that has been created in the Business Manager's place, is Corey Baker.  Welcome, Corey.

Other changes that are ahead are Mrs Tocknell commencing maternity leave for next term, and we welcome Anna Sissoev into this temporary role teaching our Year 1/2 class in Dunsborough.

Holiday Ideas from Headspace

Mr Meyer and Mrs Chapman have shared these resources, which could be just what you need these holidays.

These come from the Be You/headspace consultant Kimberly Sandford.

Enrolments for 2022

It might seem a long way off, but we are now actively taking enrolments for students for 2022.  If you have children you would like to enrol at the College, now is the time to get things in motion.  It's often the case that places fill up fast - and to avoid missing out, we suggest that early action is the best plan!

Email enrol@cornerstone.wa.edu.au if you want to start the process.

Uniform Shop Hours - holiday details

Please be aware that the Permapleat offices will be closed from Friday 9 July till Monday the 26th July.  As such, it is important to order items NOW that you may require for the start of next term.  In particular, if you require a formal red jumper for school photo day (mandatory item for all students Years 3-12) you will need to make this order before the end of term.

Awards Night Sponsors

Early next term we start the process of sourcing sponsors for a range of awards we present at the end of each year. We are so grateful for the faithful team of sponsors we have had over the years, but a place or two have opened up this year, where we would love to partner with new businesses or individuals.

What do you get?  We make sure we mention you in our presentation nights, you are noted in the program, you can even come on stage and shake the hand of your prize recipient/s if you like.  But the best part is that you have a part to play in encouraging the hard work of students in so many fields.
