The Principal's Pen

This year so far has seen a number of changes to systems and processes for the College. There have been some issues settling into new ways of operating and communicating and I appreciate parents’ patience as we all become accustomed to how these work. The semester ends with staff completing our first semester reports in Edumate which will be sent out to parents next week as an email. There are some changes to the format of the reports, and I encourage parents to contact teachers to discuss their child’s progress if they have any questions. Secondary parents will receive an email inviting them to make appointments with teachers for the parent teacher night next term.
A reminder that arises from these changes is the need for open personal contact and relationships. Our reliance on technology can easily replace individual interactions, so our focus on “relationship” as one of our key words this year has been very timely. One of the desired 21st Century skills is collaboration, which reinforces the attention that we give to relationships at Cornerstone. It is pleasing to see that God’s kingdom works the same way; relationships with each other, supporting and encouraging each other as well, working together as part of “the body”.
I hope each of our families enjoys a great winter break.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
