Paora Okirua - Shot Put

During the Easter holidays, one of Kambrya’s year 9 students, Paora Okirua travelled to Brisbane to represent Victoria at the Australian Junior Athletics Championship.

Competing in under 16 Shot Put, in a field of 14 athletes from around Australia, Paora managed to throw a personal best of 17.62m, which was good enough to take first place, beating second place by a significant 28cm.

Congratulations Paora on a fantastic achievement of becoming a National Champion.
