Prayer of the Week and News from Holy Spirit School and Parish/Fr Arsenio
It was wonderful that we were able to have the First Eucharist Masses in the Church again this year, the first time in 3 years. During 9 masses over 3 weekends 56 Holy Spirit students received the sacrament of Eucharist. The masses were lovely and I am very grateful to Father Arsenio and Father John for making the children feel so special and comfortable. Thank you also to Jacinta, Jenny and Ruth in the Parish Office for all your hard work organising this Parish based sacrament program.
Monday 15th of August is the Feast of the Assumption
Assumption Day commemorates the belief that when Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, died, her body was "assumed" into heaven to be reunited with her soul, instead of going through the natural process of physical decay upon death. This is a holy day of obligation.
Holy Spirit students will attend mass on this Friday 12th of August at 11:45 to mark this feast day. All welcome.

Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated next Monday 15th August at 7 pm in the Chapel. There will be a whole school mass for the Feast of the Assumption at 11.45 am in the Church this coming Friday 12th August and parents are most welcome to join the children in this important and special celebration.
The next edition of the Spirit magazine is now being compiled. We need your input! Have you got a story of a special dad we could highlight for Father’s Day. Perhaps some photos and stories from the recent First Communions held at our Parish. Any contributions that you would like to share with our community can be forwarded to thespirit@holyspspiritparish.org.au
Fete raffle tickets were sent out last week to the eldest child of the family. We really need your support to make this a wonderful year for the fete which will be held on Saturday 8th October. Tickets are great value at just $2.00 each and with fantastic prizes on offer. You can pay by EFT, cash, cheque or credit card. Fill out your details on the note enclosed with the raffle tickets and return the ticket stubs via the school tote system as soon as possible. Thank you for your support of the fete and our Parish and school community.
Holy Spirit is a child safe Parish. We hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our Parish.
