Learning & Teaching

Book Week

Book Week will be held from 25th- 26th August. The theme for Book Week this year is 'Dreaming With Eyes Open'

We are inviting all the students to dress up on Friday 26th August as a book character or something that ties into the theme of 'Dreaming with Eyes Open ...'.

We will be showcasing our costumes and Book Week learning during our whole school Assembly on Friday 26th August.

Students will be engaging in an incursion by STORY QUEST! on this day

I’ve been dreaming…

Marley wakes up full of excitement and expectation. She’s been dreaming that she has written the most marvelous story and now she’s awake it’s time to set about making it happen. However, the road to creating her story is much more difficult than it first seems. What happens in dreams often isn’t how things turn out and Marley finds herself embarking on a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. To reach a destination where ‘dream comes true’ she must overcome some pretty significant obstacles.

Dreaming is much more challenging when you’re awake!

Join Marley on her new STORY QUEST adventure as part of CBCA Book Week 2022 and celebrating the CBCA Book Week 2022 theme: "Dreaming With Eyes Open..." .

Students will be immersed into the storytelling and interaction with the books featured from the CBCA 2022 shortlist woven into an engaging, original narrative filled with music, adventure and intrigue!

Student Portfolios

Our classroom and specialist subject teachers are busy making your child's Digital Portfolio tasks available for your viewing.

The purpose of these portfolios are to provide you with a snapshot in time of how your child is going in a specific subject area.

These portfolio tasks will have a Learning Intention, Success Criteria and comment attached that will provide you with some insight into their learning.

Due to the challenges we are currently facing with student absences, some students may not receive a portfolio task for each subject area. We will do our best to ensure your child receives at least one task to enable you to have a sneak peek into the learning currently happening in their classroom.

Our classroom and specialist teachers will send home a Dojo letting you know when a portfolio learning task will be available for viewing.

For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher.

Science Week

Science Week is being celebrated across the country next week in August. Please note that Holy Spirit will celebrate Science Week in Term Four to suit our Inquiry Learning & Teaching cycle. Look out for some at home Science Week activities that you can complete with your child/children next week.
