The Rosary
October is a special month in the Catholic Church, dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the most treasured prayers of our faith. The Rosary helps us reflect on the life of Jesus through the eyes of His mother, Mary. As we pray, we meditate on significant events in the lives of Jesus and Mary, known as the Mysteries, which help us grow in faith, hope and love.
The Rosary is made up of a series of prayers, including the Sign of the Cross, the Apostles’ Creed, the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. Through these familiar prayers, Catholics ask for Mary's intercession and are encouraged to spend time in quiet reflection on the Gospel.
Last week, Mrs Ann Woodhouse led students in Years 3–6 in praying the Rosary. Students prayerfully participated in this beautiful tradition, deepening their understanding of its significance and strengthening their connection with Jesus and Mary. It was a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together in prayer during this special month dedicated to the Rosary.
Term 4
In Term 4, our students will continue to grow in faith through a series of joyful liturgical experiences. Students will attend Parish Masses and have opportunities for Reconciliation throughout the term.
This term, class visits with our parish priests will take place in the church, where students will participate in Adoration. Adoration is a special time of quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, giving students the opportunity to spend time with Jesus, reflect, pray, and deepen their relationship with God. These experiences will help prepare our students for the Eucharistic Congress in 2028 and strengthen their understanding of the Eucharist and its importance in our Catholic faith.
Yours in Faith,
Kirsten Kirkwood-Yule
