Year 3

This week in Year 3, students explored and appreciated artworks by Aboriginal artist Karen Napaljarri Barnes, with a focus on colour, tone, shape, line and texture. They then created their own interpretations of her Emu artwork, using the dot painting technique to add detail, shape and texture to the emu’s back.

These beautiful artworks also connect to our Year 3 Science unit, Energy and Living Things, where students are learning about habitats, ecosystems and the living things in our environment.
