We are looking forward to celebrating the many cultures we have at St Peter’s.
Families are invited to attend from 5pm on Tuesday for a sausage and to participate in some activities led by staff, community members and families.
An outline of the evening is the following -


📅 When is it? National Close the Gap Day happens on Thursday, 19 March 2026. On this day, people around Australia learn about ways to make health and life fairer for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
🧠 What does “the gap” mean?
The “gap” is the difference in health, life expectancy, and access to services between Indigenous and non‑Indigenous Australians. Everyone should have the chance to live a long, healthy, and happy life—and this day reminds us of that.
⏳ How did it start?
National Close the Gap Day began in 2007, led by major health organisations and supported by well‑known Australians like Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe. They wanted to raise awareness and help create real change.
