Principal's Message

Jess Davis

(Principal)

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we enter this most sacred and holy time in our liturgical calendar, we are invited to step away from the busyness of daily life and walk alongside Christ through the profound events of Holy Week. This is a season of deep contemplation, moving from the triumphant palms last Sunday to the solemnity of the Last Supper, the sacrifice of the Cross, and ultimately, the joy of the Resurrection. Further on in this newsletter, I have reflected on each of the days of Holy Week. For each day, I paired each reflection with a piece of modern artwork. These contemporary depictions offer a fresh lens through which we can experience the events of the Passion of Christ.

On Monday 20th of April, our community will gather at 2.45pm in the prayer space to celebrate an Easter liturgy. This liturgy will give us the opportunity to reflect on the profound joy of the Resurrection and embrace the message of hope and renewal that it brings to our lives. Parents and carers are welcome to join us in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ.

Eggcelent Fundraising Efforts

A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for your incredible support of this year’s P&F Easter Raffle! Thanks to your generous donations of chocolates and gold coin donations, as well as your enthusiastic ticket purchases the P&F are thrilled to announce that we raised over $1,000.

These funds are a fantastic boost to our ongoing fundraising efforts for the new school play spaces, a key project within our school’s Master Plan. Congratulations to all our lucky winners, and thank you again for making this raffle such a 'hopping' success!

Crazy Hair Day for Project Compassion

Crazy Hair Day is back for 2026! We are inviting all students to style their hair in the craziest way possible on Thursday 23rd April; bring a gold coin donation to support Project Compassion. The theme for Project Compassion 2026 is "Unite Against Poverty." This theme is rooted in the Gospel of John (17:23), where Jesus prays "that they may all be one." It serves as a call to global solidarity, reminding us that we are one human family and that by working together, we can empower communities to build a future free from injustice.

Please note that this is NOT a casual dress day. Students may use coloured hair spray, however this must be done at home prior to coming to school in the morning. I wonder which student (or teacher) will have the craziest hair!

2026 ANZAC Day Ceromonies

The Craigieburn and District ANZAC Day Ceremony organising committee has officially released the details for this year’s local service. We invite our school families to join the community in honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 25th, commencing at 10:00 am.

This is a significant opportunity for our students and families to come together with the wider Craigieburn district to reflect on the ANZAC spirit of courage, mateship, and sacrifice. Lest we forget.

MACSEYE

I am pleased to announce that MACSEYE will be trialling a Before School Care service at Mother Teresa starting in Term 2! This trial has been established directly in response to feedback and requests from our school community. We recognise the need for a reliable morning service to support our busy families, and we are thrilled to be able to bring this trial to fruition.

Since transitioning to MACSEYE, we have seen a significant improvement in the quality of activities and the level of care provided to students attending after care. It has been wonderful to see more and more children attending and enjoying the program offered by Eeshna and Lenny - we look forward to bringing that same energy and engagement to our new morning sessions.
