Year 4 Prep Buddies

Our Year 4 and Prep students have had a wonderful start to the Buddies Program this term; our current Year 4s were more than ready to begin the experience of being a mentor and leader to the younger students. Before meeting their buddies, the Year 4 students wrote letters to their future Prep buddies, sharing a little about themselves and what they were looking forward to doing together. At their first meeting, the Grade 4 students read these letters aloud, followed by the buddies spending time getting to know each other in the classroom while making colourful UV bracelets. This was a great way to break the ice and begin building positive connections.

The buddies have also started running the 300m track around the school together. It has been fantastic to see the Grade 4 students supporting and encouraging their Prep buddies while staying active. These sessions are helping students build confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging within our school community. We look forward to many more buddy activities throughout the year as these valuable connections continue to grow.
