Principal's Report

A Message from Julie..

Dear families,

As we near the end of this term I would like to wish Stephanie and James Tofts all the best on the impending birth of their first child. I am formally writing to the school to announce Ryan Marnell has been appointed to replace Steph for Term Four. Ryan has worked at St Joseph’s for the past 18 months and over the past term he has worked closely with Steph in a transition phase.

This week we have the honour of hosting Dr Edward Simons, Executive Director of MACS. Ed will be visiting our school and learning about the exceptional work we have been doing in the area of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). Elly, Hayden and Mat have presented at the National Wellbeing Conference earlier this year in Cairns and again last week at the MACS Wellbeing Conference held in Melbourne as the school has been recognised as a leader in this field. I would like to congratulate Elly, Hayden and Mat for leading this work and commend the support of the wider staff and school community.

Finally I will also be taking professional learning leave for the final two weeks of this term. As I will be representing St Joseph’s at a Principal Pilgrimage visiting both Rome and Assisi. In my absence Mathew Harding will be Acting Principal and Genevieve Lees Acting Deputy Principal.
