MACBETH (AN UNDOING) THEATRE PERFORMANCE || Our VCE Theatre Students had a great time watching "Macbeth (An Undoing)" at the Merlyn Theatre! This immersive experience complements Outcome 3, Unit 3 for Theatre Studies, enhancing their skills in analysing and evaluating theatre. Another great insight into the amazing world of performing arts!

SENIOR MIXED HOCKEY || Our Senior Mixed Hockey Team were undefeated in their pool in Monday's regional competition. The Grand Final was a hard fought 0-1 and our team ultimately finished runners up!

JUNIOR GIRLS AFL SMR FINALS & YEAR 7 SOCCER SMR FINALS || Our Junior Girls AFL and Year 7 Boys Soccer teams both competed in the SMR finals yesterday, with our girls placing third in the SMR round robin! Congratulations to both teams for making it to this point in the finals.

PYJAMA DAY || Today was all about comfort and kindness as our students slipped into their favourite PJs for National Pyjama Day! This heartwarming tradition supports The Pyjama Foundation's incredible work for children in foster care. By donning PJs, we're helping raise awareness and funds, and making dreams brighter!

WERRIBEE OPEN RANGE ZOO || Today, our Year 7 students visited the Werribee Open Range Zoo as part of their Ecology Unit. They explored the relationships within ecosystems, tackled real-world problems, and learned about local threatened species and the importance of conservation. This enriching experience will be crucial for their Term 3 PBL in BEST.

PRINCIPALS’ DAY || Today, we proudly celebrate Principal’s Day, recognising the exceptional dedication and hard work of our Principal Team. Their leadership is essential in fostering a thriving learning environment at Beaumaris Secondary College. YEAR 11 FORMAL || Our Year 11 students glammed up on Friday night for their very classy inaugural BSC formal! Huge thanks to the Formal Committee for their hard work in making it a night to remember!

EXCELLING IN LANGUAGES || It was a busy weekend for our Languages students the weekend before last! Year 11 student Keira C competed in the Alliance Francaise Interschool Poetry Competition. Keira represented the college in an oral examination. She recited a famous French poem on the theme of resilience and courage, paying tribute to the Olympic games held in Paris this year. She also discussed and analysed the poem in French with native speakers and participated in a general conversation about family, friends and school life in French. An outstanding achievement in VCE Languages!
Meanwhile, the Japanese VCE students participated in a seminar run by the Japanese Teachers' Association of Victoria that will prepare them for their upcoming oral and written examinations.
These students have shown excellence and dedication in their language studies for VCE, pursuing their passion for French and Japanese.

STILL LIFE ACTION || Our talented Year 9 & 10 ‘The HeART of It’ students have completed their first creation in the still life action, drawing, painting and experimenting with their chosen art forms.

YEAR 10 WELLBEING DAY || Yesterday, our Year 10 students had an enriching Wellbeing Day, participating in sessions on safe partying, drugs and alcohol, and sex education and consent. The day also included a fun cooking activity, mindfulness drawing and a sports round-robin!

DEAKIN @ BSC || Today during Beyond, our Year 11 & 12 students had a valuable session with a representative from Deakin University. They gained insights into university life and career opportunities.

RSA, FOOD HANDLING & BARISTA COURSES || This term, our Year 9-12 students have had the opportunity to gain valuable employability skills through our Micro-credentials Program. Those who enrolled in the RSA course learned how to serve and sell alcohol responsibly in line with Victoria's liquor laws and are now equipped to identify signs of overconsumption and intoxication, ensuring a safer environment for everyone. Those who enrolled in the Barista course developed skills required to prepare and serve espresso in restaurants, bars and cafes using commercial espresso coffee equipment, learned about milk texturing, coffee styles and the breakdown of a coffee machine. And, those who enrolled in the Food Handler Safety Course mastered safe food handling, personal hygiene and preventing contamination. These skills open doors to exciting career paths!

ASTRONOMY NIGHT || Last night, the Beaumaris Galaxy Club explored the mysteries of the cosmos, marvelling at our solar system. It was a fantastic evening of discovery and connection with fellow students and parents who share a passion for the stars!
