Senior and Middle School Athletics Sports:
It was a big day for children and staff - sun and wind are tiring, not to mention competing in a whole host of challenging events. The focus right to the end was outstanding. The best example of this was our Class Relay to end the day. Six competitors from each senior classroom gave their all. In the final leg of the race Te Wai and Zach were neck and neck the whole way down the final strait. They were straining every sinew to win and in the end, it was a dead-heat - a great and fair result.
Our children were awesome and we had some tight and challenging contests as we sought our finalists to go on to the Zone Championships to be held at Waitakere Trusts Stadium on Central Park Drive on November 16.
In some cases, we are only allowed to send two competitors, so it was tough that a lot of fine performances could not necessarily be rewarded with a trip to the Zones.
I will update you with event winners and Zone participants as soon as I can.
In the meantime, some photos from the day - I know 90 is a lot of photos, but I did cull it down from over 600.
