Lots of interschool collaborations happening over the next few weeks for Music students, with combined band days on the 20th of May and the 2nd June, and combined choirs day on 21st May. These days are a great opportunity for our students to represent our school, and music in state schools, and to connect with other music students across the region.

Solo CAT performance evenings

On Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th June, Ensemble program students will perform a solo in the PAC as part of their Term 2 Performance CAT assessment. These performances give students a chance to develop resilience, confidence, with a supportive audience to cheer them on. Music Support volunteers will be selling Sydney fundraiser chocolates, hot drinks and ice creams from the kiosk during and after the performances, so bring your small change and buy your child a reward for all their hard work preparing for their Solo!

Ear Plugs

For musicians working in loud environments, ear plugs are the best way to protect hearing from permanent damage such as Tinnitus. We offer disposable ear plugs to all students for Rock band and loud rehearsal environments, but we do encourage music students to look at purchasing their own, fitted earplugs for rehearsals and performances.

Winter Concert

All ensembles, large and small, will be performing at this Concert, so make sure you rug up and come along to hear the amazing work students are doing in their ensembles.

If you have a wood fire, consider bringing some cash to buy a ticket or two in the firewood raffle – drawn on the night! You can also buy tickets at the BHS general office prior to the concert.

Tickets are $2 each, or 6 for $10.

Vocal Soiree

Nadine and her vocal students will be hosting their end of term get together on Tuesday June 23rd in the Band room. A fabulous way to end the term, family and friends welcome!
