Experience La Trobe Event
Experience La Trobe is back these June-July school holidays! This is a chance to visit and explore the Bundoora Campus, get hands-on with their study areas and become familiar with Uni life by taking part in fun and dynamic workshops led by lecturers.
Students will have the option to choose a workshop relevant to their area of interest. Details of these workshops can be found on the registration page.

Nutrition and Dietetics at La Trobe
Gain the skills to make a difference in people's lives through food and nutrition. La Trobe's Bachelor of Food and Nutrition will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work with people, communities and organisations to prevent many chronic diseases.
Designed by leading nutrition experts and in collaboration with industry, students get a practical hands-on experience while exploring a range of topics such as environmental sustainability of our food system, sustainable diets, food product development, culture and food, and nutrition and disease. They also have the opportunity to study in modern science labs and commercial kitchens.
Students complete the 3-year Bachelor of Food and Nutrition and can go on to work in a range of sectors including public or community health, government, food industry (including development, technology and analysis), research or media. Possible roles include:
- nutritionist
- nutrition educator
- nutrition policy officer
- product developer
- quality assurance officer.
Graduates may choose to continue their studies and complete the 18-month Master of Dietetics. Upon completion of this master program, graduates can work as a registered dietitian. They can find employment in a growing range of clinical and community settings, including:
- Hospitals
- Help hospital patients recover from injury or illness.
- Private practice
- Work in private practice to provide care for a wide range of individuals and help them reach their health goals.
- Research
- Work in universities and other research organisations to further our understanding of nutrition. Work in the food industry to develop food products.
- Sports associations
- Provide individual care and support to improve performance and health outcomes.
- Community nutrition
- Provide nutritional education for general good health and promote nutrition through community-level education.
Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science/Bachelor of Food and Nutrition
Exciting news — a proposed new double degree combining Sport and Exercise Science with Food and Nutrition is coming to La Trobe. Integrating exercise physiology, sports performance and nutritional science, students can also exit early with a Diploma or Associate Degree to suit their individual study goals.
Aspire Early Offer Program
The Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science is no longer available under the Academic Impact stream and will only be available under the Community Impact stream. The Aspire course list will be updated shortly to reflect this change.
