Book Fair is Coming to SMCM!
We are excited to invite our students and families to our upcoming Book Fair, which will be set up in the school Library space from Monday 25th May to Friday 29th May.
The Book Fair will be open before and after school:
- 8:30am – 9:00am
- 3:25pm – 4:00pm
We will also be opening during Learning Conversations:
- Tuesday: 3:25pm – 6:00pm
- Thursday: 1:30pm – 7:30pm
This year, we made the decision to not to send home Scholastic Book Club during the first half of the year, so that our Book Fair can be the main opportunity for families to purchase books and support our school community.
The Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity to encourage a love of reading while also supporting our school. Every purchase made helps raise rewards and points for SMCM, which are then used to purchase new books and resources for our students and learning spaces.
We are currently looking for parent/carer volunteers to assist with supervising the fair and helping process payments during opening times. Even a short amount of time can make a big difference and help us keep the Book Fair running smoothly.
If you are available to help, please contact kristie.hocking@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au or michaela.biddick@smcmeppingnth.catholic.edu.au
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Book Fair and thank you for supporting reading at SMCM!

Golden Children
Congratulations Kai (Yr 2 Dairy) and Martina (Yr 5 Disciples) who both earned their Golden Child Award recently.
It was Kai's first time receiving his Golden Child and he did so with determination and perseverance. Martina earned the title of Golden Child in '23, '24, '25 and now again in 2026.
Both students did extremely well to learn and share so many facts about so many different areas of learning and to earn all 10 Stem Masters.
Well done to both students on such a wonderful achievement!
(To earn the title of Golden Child, students must earn masters in and be able to name facts about: The planets, rainbows, bones, the solar system, clouds, the mouth, birds, towers, lightning and thunder and all 118 elements
of the Periodic Table)
