Confirmation Family Faith Night

Gallery Image

Last night, our Year 6 students and their families gathered for a beautiful Confirmation Family Faith Night. An evening centred on reflection, connection and the shared journey of faith.

Together, we explored the idea that faith is like a pilgrimage. People set out on pilgrimages to grow closer to God, trusting that each step leads them somewhere meaningful. For our students, Confirmation is an important step on this pilgrimage of faith.

Throughout the evening, we reflected on what Confirmation truly means:

  • The strengthening of the gifts first given at Baptism
  • Receiving the Holy Spirit in a special way
  • Saying “yes” to living as a follower of Jesus
  • Becoming more responsible for our own faith journey

Students and families spent time discussing how, at Confirmation, we receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in a deeper way. A highlight of the evening was watching families engage in activities and conversations together. There was a strong sense of warmth and reflection as parents, carers and students shared their hopes, recognised their gifts and spoke about how they can use these gifts to serve others.

These moments of shared faith and reflection remind us that the journey towards Confirmation is not walked alone. It is supported by family, community and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit.

We thank all families who attended and contributed to the evening. Your presence and participation helped create a rich and prayerful experience for our students as they continue along their pilgrimage of faith toward Confirmation.

Please keep our Year 6 students in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and take this important step in their faith journey.

Next Wednesday, we welcome Bishop René Ramírez, who will visit our Year 6 students as they continue their journey toward the Sacrament of Confirmation. His visit will be a special opportunity for our students to meet the Bishop who will be confirming them, to hear his words of encouragement, and to be guided more deeply in understanding the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
