St. Peter’s College Excel at FUSE Cup
On Friday, 24 April, seven students represented St. Peter’s College in the Melbourne Metro Years 9-12 Rocket League FUSE Cup. The team - Blake, Oliver, Kupa, Jonathan, Santiago, Ekambir, and Andy - demonstrated exceptional teamwork and strategy across four competing teams.
A major highlight was the performance of Blake and Oliver. After entering as reigning regional champions of the Junior division, they successfully transitioned to the senior level, reaching the Grand Final. In a tense series that went to the final game, they were narrowly defeated 2:1, showing remarkable composure in their senior debut.
The entire group, including Kupa, Jonathan, Santiago, Ekambir, and Andy, represented the College with outstanding resilience and sportsmanship. They supported one another through high-pressure matches and tough competition, embodying the College's values throughout the day.
Congratulations to all seven participants on a fantastic tournament.

Year 8 Japanese Incursion - Samurai & Ninja Workshop
Our Year 8 incursion went very smoothly thanks to our admin, IT and maintenance. This workshop was a re-engagement point for students who love hands-on experience, and it also deepened students' knowledge of Medieval Japan which they will study later the year.
Our Year 8 students took a step back in time this term for an unforgettable cultural incursion! We were incredibly honored to welcome Aiko, who joins us from a lineage with a real Samurai family background in Japan, to lead an immersive Samurai and Ninja Workshop.
From testing lightning-fast reflexes to uncovering the secrets of the Edo period, our students dived headfirst into Japanese history and tradition.
Here is what our students had to say about the experience:
"We practiced with replica tools and learned so many interesting facts. The sensei was so jolly and set a great vibe—we all felt welcome and encouraged to experience a new side of Japanese culture!"
— Kate N., Year 8
"It was a great experience! I learned about Daruma dolls (lucky dolls where you paint the eye when a wish comes true!) and the different rankings of the Samurai era. Highly recommend!"
— Jetta T., Year 8
"From catching tissues with chopsticks to testing our reactions with training swords, it was extremely entertaining. I definitely recommend this for future students!"
— Saana T., Year 8
A huge thank you to Aiko for sharing her incredible heritage and passion with us. It’s safe to say our Year 8s are now masters of the "Samurai vibe"!

St Thomas the Apostle Alpha program
The parish of St Thomas the Apostle Clyde North is preparing to begin its fourth Alpha season, and are deeply grateful for the opportunity to once again invite people into this beautiful space of encounter and discovery. Alpha is open to everyone—those with strong faith, those who are searching, and those who may simply be wondering if God has a place in their lives. It is a gentle invitation to pause, reflect, and explore life’s deeper questions in a safe and welcoming environment.
Alpha is a free, relaxed and welcoming space where people can explore life, faith, and meaning together. Each evening begins with a shared meal, followed by a short video and an open conversation where all questions are welcome and every voice is respected. Many find it to be a place of genuine encounter, friendship, and renewal.
The next Alpha series will run over 9 weeks on
Wednesday evenings from 7:00–9:00pm, beginning Wednesday 29th April.

ANZAC DAY - Cranbourne Campus
St Peter’s College proudly held its annual ANZAC Day Ceremony on Tuesday 28 April, a respectful and moving occasion that brought our school community together in remembrance.
The ceremony was thoughtfully planned and led by our Year 11 Vocational Major (VM) students, who demonstrated outstanding organisation, leadership and respect throughout the event. Their efforts ensured a meaningful tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
We were honoured to welcome guest speakers Warrant Officer Class 2 Damian Henriques and Bruno Bertucci, a former St Peter’s College student. Bruno, now the Wellbeing and Compensation Officer at the Dandenong Cranbourne RSL, shared his insights and spoke passionately about supporting veterans and their families. Both speakers provided powerful reflections that resonated strongly with our students and guests.
A special thank you also goes to Paul Hatwell from the Cranbourne SES, who once again generously volunteered his time as our bugle player, adding a poignant and traditional element to the ceremony.
We were delighted to host guests from Botanic Gardens Retirement Home, whose presence added to the significance of the occasion. Many of our visitors commented on the respectful conduct and maturity of our students, which was wonderful to hear.
It was a truly lovely ceremony and a fitting way for our community to pause, reflect and honour the spirit of ANZAC Day.
