Promotions Course

At the end of Term 2, we held our Promotions Course for Years 9 to 11 in preparation for leadership opportunities in 2027. The cadets were lucky to hear from Major Glynn Potter, the Operations Officer from NSW 2nd Brigade Headquarters. MAJ Potter spoke to our cadets about the principles of leadership, the chain of command and the Australian Army Cadet Values. The cadets spent the weekend learning new skills and demonstrating their knowledge by teaching field skills and first aid lessons. Overall, it was a great weekend. If there are any cadets who were unable to attend, there will be an opportunity to complete some catch-up tasks throughout the term. Promotions for 2027 will be announced during AFX in September. Thank you to the staff who gave up their time to assist with the course.

Chief of Army Cadet Team Challenge

During the winter break, four of our PHSACU cadets attended the Chief of Army Cadet Team Challenge at Kokoda Barracks in Canungra. CDTCPL Matisse, CDTCPL Isabella and CDTLCPL Jade (C10), were challenged physically, mentally and intellectually to apply all of their cadet skills and compete against teams from all over Australia. CDTWO2 William (CG11), also gave up his holidays, attending as a support staff member, manning the Command Post with Army Cadet Staff, to ensure that every cadet was safe. Well done to each of these cadets; you have represented PHSACU and the NSW 2nd Brigade so well; we are very proud of you!
