Grandparents Day in the Library
I want to extend an enormous, and heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our library and donated books, or was able to donate funds online during our Grandparents celebration.
Every year it's a thrill to see grandparents visiting our library with their grandchildren, and excitedly choosing books to donate. Not only does this mean we are able to supply our students with quality literature to read, but it's also wonderful to see families sharing a love of books and reading.
I'm furiously cataloguing and processing all of these books, and you will notice them starting to come home this week. We've already been sharing some of them in our library lessons, and the children are delighted with the new additions to our collection.
Thanks again for your support!
If I could just remind parents to help their children remember their library bags each week. It's important to have a school library bag for borrowing, as they protect the books from leaky water bottles etc.

Book Week News
This year, the CBCA will announce the Books of the Year on Friday 21st of August, and the official Book Week runs from the 22nd to the 28th of August.
However, this year St Anthony's will hold our Book Week celebrations on
Thursday the 10th of September (Week 8).
The children are already starting to think about which book character they'll choose to dress as, and more information about the event will be shared with you soon.
The Premier's Reading Challenge
I am very excited to report that most of our students have already completed the
Premier's Reading Challenge!
This is just one of the many benefits of having a well stocked school library!
Don't forget, if you are still adding books, and have any trouble logging into your PRC account, make a list and I will add them for you.
Don't forget your library bags!
Please take note of your child's library day, so they don't miss out on borrowing.
Tuesday: Years 3, 5, 6 and Kindergarten
Thursday: Years 2, 4 and 1
