Foundation students have had an exciting few weeks diving into the colourful, imaginative world of Paul Klee. They loved discovering how he used shapes and lines to build playful portraits and were eager to try the idea themselves. Using crayons, students traced bold, simple shapes to form their own faces, then added a splash of paint over the top to reveal the magic of the crayon resist technique.

Watching their wax lines pop through the colour was a real highlight — lots of “wow!” moments and proud smiles as their portraits came to life. It’s been a great, hands‑on way for them to explore creativity and express themselves.
