FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION - FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST
The Assumption of Mary is an important feast in the Catholic Church, where we remember and celebrate the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. This celebration reminds us of Mary’s deep faith, her trust in God, and her role as a model of hope, love, and service for all Christians. It encourages us to reflect on how we, too, can live lives of faith and respond generously to God’s call.
You are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary at our school Mass.

WELCOME BISHOP RENE RAMIREZ
Loving God,
We give You thanks for the installation of our new Bishop and
for the gift of his leadership among us in the Diocese of Sandhurst.
As he begins this new ministry, fill him with the wisdom of Your Spirit,
the compassion of Christ, and the courage to serve Your people with faith and generosity.
Help him to be a shepherd who listens attentively, leads humbly,
and inspires others through his witness to the Gospel.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen
NATIONAL ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER CHILDREN'S DAY
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is an annual celebration recognising the strength, pride and potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. It highlights the importance of growing up strong in culture, and staying connected to family, community and Country as foundations for wellbeing and lifelong success.
Led by SNAICC – National Voice for our Children, the day also calls on all Australians to listen to and value children’s voices, while acknowledging the vital role of culture in building identity and resilience. Each year, a national flagship event brings communities together, alongside hundreds of local celebrations across the country.
