Year 6 Open Classrooms – Save the date
Parents and carers are warmly invited to our Year 6 Open Classrooms morning on Tuesday 15 September (Week 9A) from 8:45 AM - 9:30 AM. We look forward to sharing the wonderful learning that has taken place with our community. Please gather in the Powell Pavillion before being invited to your son’s classroom.
Book Week 2026 - Symphony of Stories
Book Week will take place in Week 6 between 24 - 28 August. The 2026 Children's Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, celebrates reading stories and their amazing power to transport minds. This year, we are looking forward to the following events that will help us celebrate Book Week.
Book Week Parade - Monday 24 August - Period 1. Parents/carers are warmly welcome to join the parage which will be held on SPC 2 from 8:40 AM. Students are encouraged to start planning their costumes. You are reminded to be creative; there is no need to purchase a costume. Make one from items available around your house, e.g cardboard, foil, material, items of clothing etc. The day is a celebration of books and book characters; participation is the key!
Author Visit - Mark Greenwood – Wednesday 26 August.
Book Week Bookmark competition. Design a Bookmark for the Westcourt Library. Dimensions for the bookmark - width 55mm x height 200mm. If you need some cardboard, just come and ask at the front counter of the library. Competition opens Term 3, Week 2. Closing date Wednesday 19 August. Please place a hard copy entry in the nominated box at the front of the library. Winners will be announced at the book parade. Winning entries will be published and available in the Westcourt library. Enter as many times as you want! Competition winners will receive a prize - a book of their choice to the value of $20.
