New Course in 2027 – Digital Marketing and Advertising
Deakin is excited to be introducing the Bachelor of Digital Marketing and Advertising, the only degree of its kind offered by an Australian university.
Students will study consumer psychology and business analytics while building their advertising craft – from copywriting and art direction to social media content and brand communication. Using industry tools, emerging technologies and how to ethically engage with AI tools that drive today’s digital economy, students will think strategically, create compelling content and deliver it across digital platforms.This course will prepare students for careers across digital marketing, marketing and advertising, strengthened by data driven marketing knowledge, creative advertising skills and future focused capabilities in AI and digital innovation.
The VCE entry prerequisites are Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 25 in English EAL (English as an Additional Language) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Forensic Science
Deakin is the first university in the Asia-Pacific region and the only university in Australia to offer professionally accredited forensic sciences courses, giving you the potential to work anywhere in the world.
This course exposes students to the full scope of modern forensic science, from simulated crime scenes to courtroom presentations. There is a strong focus on practical training, and students graduate with the skills needed to confidently examine, interpret and present forensic evidence. This degree is comprehensive and flexible, and the course covers a wide range of disciplines including illicit drugs analysis, DNA analysis and more. Students can elect to customise their degree to suit their interests by selecting to specialise in forensic biology or forensic chemistry.
