Year 5 

Spotlight on Learning

Dear Bethany Families,

What a fantastic final week!

On Monday the students learned who their clsssmates and teachers were for year 6. It was encouraging to experience the maturity and resilience shown by the students. The year 5 students will be excellent examples for the rest of the school in 2026.

On Tuesday the students practiced their Christmas song "Oh what a Glorious Night" with the rest of the school, and then performed on Tuesday night in front of the community. It was a wonderful occasion and we were so proud of our year five students when they presented their song enthusaistically, kept in time with the actions, and above all, enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all of the families who attended to help make the night such a success.

On Wednesday we joined the year 6 students for the 2025 leadership mass. In a moving ceremony, the year 6 students handed a candle to the year 5 students to signify the passing of school leadership from one grade to another.

This week year 5 students were recognised for their innovative and well presented Christmas Card drawings. These were very striking with great use of colour and images, and it was amazing to see the creative flair amongst our students!

It has been a rewarding year in Bethany Community for everyone, we have enjoyed teaching all of your children. We hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas and New Year, and a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Important Dates

• Monday 15 December - Clean Up Day. Students who attend school will be assisting the teachers to clean all of the tables, chairs and tubs in the community. We need to make sure everything is spotless for the 2026 year 5 students and teachers.
• Friday 30th of January: First day of 2026 for year 6.
