Assistant Principal Report

Dear Highvale Families,

We are well into Term 4, and it has certainly been a busy and exciting start to the term, with plenty to celebrate across our school community.

Just this week, students from across the school showcased their creativity and artistic talents at our annual Art Show. This year, we introduced a new feature with each class creating a collaborative artwork that was auctioned to our community. The talent on display was exceptional, with all 18 class pieces sold. Many of the artworks looked as though they belonged in a museum, and we thank our families and community members for their generous support.

We were also thrilled to introduce a new community event this year, our inaugural Maths Night, hosted in partnership with Mathnasium. The MPC was filled with families enjoying a range of engaging games and activities designed to highlight just how enjoyable learning mathematics can be. With plenty of treats to enjoy and prizes to be won, the evening was a wonderful celebration of learning and community.

On Monday, we welcomed our wonderful grandparents and other special people to spend the afternoon in classrooms across the school. Visitors had the opportunity to see what students have been learning, participate in classroom activities, and share stories about how schooling has changed since they were students themselves.

In addition to these special events, we have been busy welcoming our future students through Prep Transition sessions, supporting students who progressed to the Regional Track and Field Championships, facilitating Human Development workshops for our senior students and hosting Inform & Empower eSafety incursions across the school. All of this has occurred alongside the amazing learning that takes place every day in our classrooms, where students continue to be supported and challenged to develop new skills and understanding.

To read more about some of these events, please continue through the newsletter and explore the dedicated pages highlighting each occasion. To hear directly from our students about what they have enjoyed learning over the past fortnight, be sure to read the Student Voice section below.

Please take the time to read each of the corresponding newsletter articles and celebrations from around the school, and thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school community.

Did You Know?

Did you know that Friday 30th October is World Teachers' Day?

World Teachers' Day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the important role teachers play in the lives of children and young people every day. It is a chance to acknowledge their dedication, expertise, care and commitment to helping students learn, grow and thrive.

On behalf of our school community, we have organised a special thank you for our teachers to recognise the incredible work they do. We would also encourage families and students to take a moment on Friday to reach out to their teacher/s and let them know how much they appreciate all that they do.

The calibre of staff at Highvale Primary School is truly outstanding and we feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such passionate, dedicated and talented educators each and every day. Thank you to all of our teachers for the positive difference you make in the lives of our students and families.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Kind regards,

Kelly Soccio
