Year 1 

In Year 1, students have been exploring how technology has changed over time, investigating how people lived, worked, travelled, and communicated in the past compared to today. 

This week, Year 1 stepped back in time by looking at old and new toys to see how play has evolved. To bring history to life, the students created their very own thaumatropes—a clever 19th-century optical illusion toy that uses string and a spinning double-sided picture to trick the eye into seeing a single moving image.
