LHS Taster Program

Our Stage 3 students are participating in the Leeton High School Taster Program. This valuable opportunity allows students to experience different high school subjects, routines and learning environments in preparation for their transition to high school. Students will attend weekly sessions for 4 weeks in Term 2 and Term 4 at Leeton High School and participate in a range of engaging activities and rotations. We thank Leeton High School for providing this wonderful opportunity and look forward to seeing our students build confidence and excitement for the future.

External Validation

Yanco Public School recently participated in the External Validation process, which is part of the NSW Department of Education’s school improvement process. External Validation gives schools the opportunity to reflect on their teaching, learning and wellbeing practices and demonstrate the quality of education being provided to students.

As part of the process, we collected and presented evidence that shows how our school is progressing in areas such as student learning, wellbeing, leadership and school culture. An external panel then reviewed this evidence and worked alongside the school to confirm strengths and identify future directions for continued improvement.

This process is an important opportunity to celebrate the great work happening at Yanco Public School while also ensuring we continue to grow and provide the best possible outcomes for all students. We are incredibly proud of the commitment shown by our staff, students and wider school community throughout the process.

NSW Public Schools Survey

A link has been sent out to families via email or SMS today. Please take the time to complete this anonymous survey to help improve our Education System. I will be sending out a school satisfaction survey specifically regarding YPS. Your feedback is highly valued and helps guide future planning and decision making at Yanco Public School. We encourage all families to continue sharing their thoughts and ideas to support ongoing school improvement.

Yanco Public School Attendance

Our attendance rate for Semester 1 (Term 1 & 2) is above. We are currently higher than statistically similar schools in NSW but we are slightly lower that state average.  Regular attendance at school is essential for student learning, wellbeing and success. Every day counts, and consistent attendance helps students build strong routines, maintain friendships and fully engage in classroom learning. We encourage families to support positive attendance habits by ensuring students attend school every day unless they are unwell. Thank you for working with us to support every child’s learning journey.

Teacher Conference

Recently, Mr Gullo attended the Beginning Teacher Conference. This professional learning opportunity provided valuable strategies, resources and networking opportunities to support early career teachers in developing effective classroom practices and strengthening student learning outcomes. Staff returned with new ideas and approaches that will continue to support high-quality teaching and learning across our school.
