Friendship Day!

What a fabulous day we had today ~ Friendship Day, we were so excited to see so many parents come together as a community, beginning with a Parent Workshop in the Hall where Mrs Overton presented how Holy Family nurtures strong, respectful and resilient friendships in our students.

Across all year levels, children are supported to grow as friends and leaders through three key pillars of our wellbeing approach: The 7 Habits, the Friendology program, and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). Together, these frameworks help students understand themselves, communicate positively, solve problems, and build healthy connections with others.

During this parent session, we had the opportunity to see first‑hand how we are learning to navigate friendships with confidence and compassion. Mrs Overton shared the language, tools, and strategies used in our classrooms every day, empowering students to be leaders of their own path and active contributors to a caring school community.

We are so fortunate be a part of a community which values friendship and wellbeing as well as celebrating the importance of connection, kindness, and belonging, thank you to all those who came.

Passion Project Pilot Program Takes Off!

Our Passion Project pilot program is officially in full swing, and the excitement is contagious! Students have jumped into this new adventure in learning, exploring topics they care deeply about through self‑paced and independent study. Guided by our enthusiastic HPGE teachers, each learner is discovering the joy of following their curiosity and shaping their own learning journey.

What is a Passion Project? A passion project is a student‑driven learning experience where children choose a topic they are genuinely interested in—anything from coding to cooking, robotics to reptiles! They research, create, experiment, and share their discoveries, turning their personal interests into meaningful learning.

Why are Passion Projects great for young learners?

Passion projects help students:

  • Build independence and confidence
  • Develop creativity and problem‑solving skills
  • Strengthen research and communication abilities
  • Become active, motivated learners
  • Experience the joy of learning for its own sake

Our students are embracing this new venture with enthusiasm and curiosity, and we can’t wait to see where their interests take them next.

Stay tuned for more updates and student spotlights!

Word of the Week!

Meaning: Friendship is a special bond between people who care about each other and love spending time together. A true friend shares laughs, listens kindly, and helps you when you need support. Even if friends sometimes disagree, they talk things through and grow stronger together! Friendship fills our hearts with joy, makes us feel safe and included, and reminds us that we are never alone. Here are some suggestions on how you can be a good friend!
