Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)

Each year, we celebrate Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day), a Christian tradition held on the day before Lent begins. Once again, we partnered with Australian Lutheran World Service to mark Shrove Tuesday by selling pancakes for a purpose. Thanks to the wonderful support of our community, we sold nearly 600 pancakes throughout the day.

Funds raised through ALWS Pancakes for Purpose will be matched 5:1 by the Australian Government, supporting life-saving work in Ethiopia. One of Ethiopia’s staple foods, eaten at almost every meal, is injera — a large pancake-style bread — making this fundraiser especially meaningful.
