International Baccalaureate

Learning to Learn Weeks
The first weeks of school are dedicated to Learning to Learn. During this time, students and teachers intentionally build the foundations that support success across the year. Together, we co-construct our Essential Agreements, shaping the environment we need in order to feel safe, respected and ready to grow. Students explore our College values, develop a shared understanding of growth mindset, and reflect on the attributes of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile.
Through conversations about thoughts and actions, learners begin to recognise how their choices influence themselves and others. These weeks are about building strong relationships, shared expectations and a positive culture of learning that creates a community where every child is supported to grow and succeed.

Learning To Learn
During learning to learn we studied the College Values and reflected on why they are important. I think integrity is important because it covers all values if you always do your best.

The value I like most is respect because it prevents conflict. It helps us grow a learning space where I feel happy, safe and calm.

We have built our essential agreement. Our essential agreement helps guide us on how to be the best learners we can be.

In learning to learn our teacher has encouraged us to use our own thinking and brain power in learning to develop independence and confidence. This is great for my learning.

I liked learning about having a growth mindset and the word “yet.” When we don’t know how to do something yet, it reminds us that we can keep learning and get better with practice. Dhairya 6C
I discovered why it is important to never give up. If we have resilience and keep going forward...who knows what we might achieve! if we give up, we will never know what was possible. Kalp 6C
