Year 5 Pop Art
Our Year 5 artists have been diving into the colourful world of Pop Art, creating some amazing artworks inspired by everyone's favourite subject... food!
This unit has focused on making their artwork really "pop" by using bold outlines, bright contrasting and complementary colours, and making their food the star of the page.
One thing that has really impressed me is how much the students' colouring skills have grown. They've worked so hard to create beautiful solid blocks of colour, making their artworks look bright, neat and vibrant. They've definitely shown me what they're capable of—which means my expectations have happily gone up!

Mandarin
LOTE Mandarin Update
Prep students have been learning about family members in Mandarin. They have practised recognising and writing the Chinese characters for 爸爸 (dad) and 妈妈 (mum), and are becoming more confident using family vocabulary.
Year 1 students have been learning the names of different fruits in Mandarin. They have also begun writing simple opinion sentences, such as describing whether they like a particular fruit and whether they think it is tasty.
Year 5 students have been learning how to order food and drinks in Mandarin. They have practised asking and answering questions such as "What would you like to eat?" and "What would you like to drink?", while using measure words including 一份 (one serving), 一杯 (one cup), 一碗 (one bowl), and 一笼 (one basket).
Year 6 students have continued building their confidence in using measure words in Mandarin. They have been learning how to correctly use measure words such as 一件 (one item of clothing), 一条 (one long item, such as trousers), and 一双 (one pair), helping them create more accurate and natural sentences.

Level F- 2
Students in Levels F - 2 have been developing their striking and fielding skills through a range of fun and engaging activities and games such as Golden Child and Teeball. They have been practising throwing and catching with control, striking a stationary ball, running safely between markers and working cooperatively. These activities support students in building coordination, confidence, teamwork and an understanding of simple game rules.
Level 3 & 4

Week 5
Foundation - Our little scientists studied wheels as a way to move.
Level 1 & 2 - This week we learned about sea anemones and their symbiotic relationship with clown fish and shrimp.
Level 3 & 4 - We used the rock dicotomy to analyse 9 rock specimens.
Levels 5 & 6 - Were analysing the difference between chemical and phyiscal reactions.
Week 6 Science Week - Flight
Have you been into our airport to visit the terminal, fuselage and cabin?
All levels experienced a flight to Curious City in our aeroplane. The students were greeted by ground crew (Wilko and Safety Sue), presented their tickets, waited for their flight to be called, boarded, greeted the pilots and listened to pilot announcements (Ms Cullen and Wilko), experienced the safety briefing and inflight service delivered by our flight attendants (Mrs Briffa and Mrs Gau).
