College Musical - School of Rock

Welcome to the School of Rock!

Last week MacKillop Catholic College held our highly anticipated production of School of Rock, at the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre. With a strong student-driven cast, crew and band, it was certainly an entire College Community affair.

Our staff and students were hard at work all year, perfecting their air guitar and best dance moves as they prepared to 'Stick it to the Man' at Horace Green Prep School. A big thank you to all who purchased tickets and made sure that 'You're in the Band' and joined us as we followed along with Dewey Finn on his journey as he teaches the children and their parents the beauty of rock.

With four performances over three days, it was wonderful to see students gaining more and more confidence under the stage spotlights as their talents truly shone. Our Year 7 students joined students from Corpus Christi Catholic School and John Paul II CatholicSchool for a very special matinee performance of School of Rock, as they had the chance to see what exciting Performing Arts opportunities await them at MacKillop Catholic College.

MacKillop Catholic College would like to thank:

  • Nicholas Courto, Anna Cato, Rachel Williams and Jessica Hillier for their time and effort into supporting our students so that this production was a resounding success.
  • Sally Tew, Lincoln Beddoe, Jaclyn Godfrey and the MacKillop Arts team for help with sets, costumes and t-shirts.
  • Guilford Young College for their support, with special thanks to Morgan Lunn, for her guidance and assistance in making the most of the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre.
  • Sue Howard and the Certificate II in Tourism students, who worked in Catering and Front of House.
  • MacKillop staff who assisted with Front of House duties.
  • All the staff and students who were on stage, backstage, in the pit or anywhere else.

Well done to all who contributed both on and off stage, we can't wait to see what excitement awaits for our next College Musical in 2027.
