School Based Apprenticeship

Harry Kelly, a Year 11 student at Seymour College has recently commenced a School-Based Apprenticeship in Carpentry with Cole Constructions in Nagambie. Harry completed his work placement with Cole Constructions and displayed sufficient potential and a proper work ethic for the conversation around a possible school-based apprenticeship to take place with his employer who was prepared to support Harry in his request. Jason Cole from Cole Constructions has been a strong supporter of school-based programs, which is greatly appreciated by Seymour College.

This opportunity allows Harry to combine his senior secondary studies with hands-on experience in the building and construction industry. Harry will commence working one day per week, with the possibility of extending this in the future. Harry will receive his training at the workplace from Murray Mallee Training. Through this partnership, Harry is gaining valuable, real-world skills whilst working towards his qualification.

Good luck Harry!
