WELCOME

Welcome to another year of sporting opportunities for 2026. Miss Devlin and Mrs Col will take on their same roles as Sport Teachers and Sport Coordinators of the school for 2026. Miss Devlin will be teaching the PE syllabus with all classes across 5 days and Mrs Col will be present on Mondays. At St Patrick's we will provide opportunities that range from SCS Representative Pathways, SCS Interschool Sport, Catholic Schools NSW endorsed gala and development days,  SCS sport holiday activities and finally invitational gala days from our local national sporting organisations.

Nominations have now been closed for this gala day. All families involved in this gala day will be provided further details via compass including seeking permission. This will be available as of next week.

JERSEY UPDATE

Students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey has been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur replacement fee.

Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.

Interschool Sport

Sporting Schools Coach

Starting from Tuesday we have a qualified coach coming to teach athletics on Tuesdays and Thursdays targeting our Year 6, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 4 classes. We are very excited to get underway as our athletics carnival is very fast approaching. We can't wait to see the skills the children develop over the course of the program. Miss Devlin will follow suit with the coach and teach athletics to those students who don't have sport on those days.

Shark Blitz

On Monday we have NRL coming out to present to our Year 3 cohort. It is an annual, cornerstone community engagement initiative run by the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks NRL club. It involves the entire NRL playing squad visiting dozens of local schools, junior rugby league clubs, and community centers, primarily within the Sutherland Shire, to deliver positive messages, promote health and well-being, and encourage participation in rugby league. We won't have the entire sharks squad at our school but we are hoping to meet some of our heroes on Monday!

Upcoming Representative Trials

Thank you to those students who have trialed across various sports for next years conference trials. Trialists were gathered based on the nominations received and those students who missed the opportunity were able to display their resilience and congratulate those who were selected. Details will be shared via compass and a paper note for any student attending a conference trial.

COMMUNITY SPORT

A big congratulations to our students who participated at Oztag State Cup! We had Mia C, Zara L, Georgia SC and Jordan G. All students had a great time at this event.

It was a very tough competition, especially in the extreme heat. Jordan's U11s team didn’t make the finals but they won 50% of their games while giving it all they've got. Georgia SC participated in the OzTag State Cup U11s Sutherland Sharks Rep team, coming first in their pool. Narrowly missing out on the GF going down to Macarthur in the semis 1-0 in extra time.
