The Season of Lent

Lent is a time of preparation for Easter in the Christian church. Sometimes people use these forty days for extra times of prayer, giving and fasting (or 'giving something up'). 

The churches in Alice Springs also mark Lent with mid-week services in different locations. You are always welcome to attend. 

Ash Wednesday & Mid-Week Lenten services

13 March - Mid-week Lent 4, 7.00pm; Catholic (Dan Cortez), Hartley St  

20 March - Mid-week Lent 5, 7.00pm; Lutheran Church, Gap Rd 

Easter Services at Lutheran Church, Gap Road

March 28th - 7.00pm,  Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion

March 29th - 9.30am, Good Friday service

March 31st - 9.30am, Easter Sunday service with Holy Communion

LCA International Mission

This year the 40 Days - a Lent Devotional and Prayer guide devotions have been written by members of our partner churches focusing on the theme ‘40 days with the Storyteller’.

Lenten devotional entitled ‘Understanding Grace – God’s riches at Christ’s expense’ has been prepared by Lutheran Tract Mission.
