Our Value focus for the rest of the term is Courage - Be Brave! Bravery is a hard concept to capture and what is considered brave for me might be different to what you consider bravery. I’ve attached an article in the newsletter under our School Spotlight section that is well written and talks about how to discuss bravery with your child. In class and as a whole school we will be exploring bravery and how we can be brave. One of the ways we teach children to be brave is to be an upstander not a bystander. I had an amazing email from the mum of a past student recently.  The child had come home to tell her how proud he was of being an UPSTANDER at school that day! It made my heart sing as this is a skill we focused on while the child had been a student here. Please have a chat about the ideas in the article as a family.

We are reminding families that the best place to park or kiss and go is in the designated areas in Albrecht Drive. Parking and dropping of in Kramer St can be a risk to student safety. Please do not drop off children in the traffic queue, please drop them at kiss and go. Recently a parent dropped their child on the roundabout putting them at risk. We also ask for your co-operation at the crossing, specifically we ask you to wait until the crossing is clear before proceeding. A parent recently narrowly missed a staff member who was still on the crossing as they drove through. We will forward number plates to the police of people not obeying traffic rules. Please help us keep your child safe.

Enrolments for mid-year Foundation class are open.  If you or your friends or family have a child who is turning 5 before 31 December, they would be eligible for consideration for our mid-year class. Mid-year entry children complete 18 months of Foundation. Last year's mid-year group have hit the ground running with successful school behaviours like group work skills and inquiry skills in our investigation sessions. If you would like to know more or do a school tour email living.waters@ntschools.net.

Harmony Day is coming up and I’m interested in chatting to families who would like to share their culture with our community. Usually, we have a Harmony Day worship and break up into multi-age groups across the school to enjoy learning about the many different cultures in our school. Please email lisa.goldsworthy@ntschools.net if you are able to help.

Blessings
