A prayer for our 'Winter Appeal':

Lord, open our eyes that we may see the deepest needs of your people.

Move our hands, that we may feed the hungry.

Touch our hearts that they may bring warmth to those who are sad.

Let us share our time and possessions with those in need.

Give us the care that strengthens the sick.

May we all be a source of support and encouragement for each other as we strive to build a more loving society.

Amen.

A big thank you to our generous commmunity for all of your donations towards our Winter Appeal. Our classroom tubs are full of donations for people in need in our community.

We will proudly hand this over to the Glen Iris St Vincent De Paul Conference who will then distribute it out to the community. Thank you again to Harper Connellan, Mia Smarelli and George Bristow (Year 6 leaders) for helping to promote this event.

St  Roch’s Sacramental Program:

Year 4 First Communion Retreat Day

Last Wednesday, our Year 4 students teachers joined Father Gallacher over in the Narthex for our First Communion Retreat Day. This special day involved learning about the purpose of First Communion, exploring how prayer is an important part and also visiting areas of the Church that we normally don’t get to see. It was exciting to go into the Sacristy to see where Father Gallacher’s robes are stored, alongside many special books and also where the host is stored too.  As always, this was another fantastic opportunity to ask Father Gallacher all of our questions about First Communion and also about the Catholic faith. We are very grateful for his support!

Year 4: The Sacrament of First Communion!

Finally, on Sunday our students and their families came together to experience the final part of this faith journey - their First Eucharist.  We were very proud of the reverence and engagment shown by our Year 4 students - a very special day to remember.

A hug thank you to the Sacramental team of Father Gallacher, Jess Mount, Teresa Hogan, Angie Mastoras and Nadine Bolton
