Writing – Exploring Poetry ✍️
Our Grade 3/4 students have been exploring different forms of poetry and discovering creative ways to express their ideas. Students have experimented with sensory poems, using descriptive language to engage the five senses, as well as haiku, limericks and shape poems. Through these activities, students have been developing their vocabulary, creativity and understanding of how poets use words, rhythm and structure to bring their ideas to life.
Integrated – Festivals and Celebrations 🐉
Our Grade 3/4 students have been exploring festivals and celebrations from around the world, with a focus on Lunar New Year. Students investigated the importance of dragons and traditional symbols, discovering how they represent ideas such as good luck, happiness and prosperity. Through these activities, students developed their understanding of different cultural traditions and the ways people celebrate special occasions around the world.
