All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, observed  every 25 April. It commemorates the 1915 Gallipoli landing and honours all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

On Saturday morning Mr Wood and our school captains, Ella and Louis, will be attending a service at the Chelsea RSL . Not only will they will be represernting our school,  but also our Catholic community and our commitment to the values of peace, unity, and the sacredness of human life.

The ANZAC legend is built upon the virtue of sacrifice—the willingness to lay down one’s life for others. This mirrors the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, reminding us that "greater love has no person than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

In this current era of global unrest, where conflict and division fracture our human family, our call for peace is more urgent than ever. We are reminded by Pope Leo that "war is always a defeat for humanity."

Today, let us  pray for unity that transcends borders, race and religion.

Let us honour the ANZAC spirit by becoming active peacemakers. As we remember the dead, let us advocate for the living, pleading for an end to violence and the restoration of justice across the globe. May we strive for a peace that is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of Christ’s love in every heart.

PROJECT COMPASSION

Many thanks to our amazing St Louis' Community for your very generous donations to this year's Project Compassion Campaign. If you still have a Project Compassion Box at home, please return it to school as soon as possible, so that our donations can be sent to Caritas and used to help those people less fortunate than ourselves.
