Term 1 finished with a bang with our Senior House Athletics event at Knox Athletics track. It was a great day with some fantastic individual results and the overall result coming down to the House Chant competition with only .05 separating 1st and 2nd- The closest finish in history.

Final House results:

1st- Fraser

2nd- Freeman

3rd- Bradman

4th- Perkins

Last week we gathered for a Level 4,5,6 assembly to announce the top 3 placegetters in each event and to celebrate their efforts. Extended results have been placed on the noticeboards for students to see if they made top 6 for most events or top 10 for 100m sprints.

High jump trials have begun at school and Mr Zach will soon be speaking to students about their choices for District athletics.

Thanks to all the parent helpers and the staff for all their work on what is a big day.

“Over the Easter long weekend, I was fortunate enough to go to Adelaide with my basketball rep team and participate in the Easter classic this year.

We came 5th overall in my pool, but I had a great time and heaps of fun with my teammates and friends”.                                                                                           - Mia F (6W)

During the Easter break, I played in the Adelaide Easter Classic basketball tournament, a competition where teams from different states and regions come together to compete over 4 days of high-impact basketball. The number of games you play depends on how well you perform in the pool matches and crossover rounds.

Our team Spectres 14.7 went undefeated through the group stage and qualified for the grand final. We stayed focused and worked together to win the gold medal. I am also lucky to be coached by my dad, Edwin.

It was an exhilarating experience meeting new teammates and making friends from other teams. We also spent time with the teammates and their families off the court, including team lunches and dinners and a fun night at a Steakhouse, which I enjoyed most.

Overall, this will be an unforgettable moment of my basketball journey.
