Attendance concerns- It’s not all academic!

Regular school attendance plays a vital role in your child’s success, not only in their learning but also in their overall wellbeing.

Each day at school provides valuable opportunities for students to build essential skills, develop confidence, and stay connected with their peers.

Consistent attendance supports learning by allowing children to actively participate in lessons, practise new skills, and build on their knowledge over time.

Missing school can make it harder for students to keep up, as each lesson often builds on the one before it.

Establishing strong attendance habits early helps set children up for future success both academically and beyond the classroom.

Just as importantly, being at school every day helps children develop and maintain social connections. Friendships are formed through shared experiences—working together in class, playing at recess, and participating in group activities.

These interactions help children build communication skills, empathy, and a sense of belonging within the school community.

Please take the time to have a look at a summary of our Term 1 attendance data.

When students attend regularly, they are more likely to feel confident, included, and engaged in school life. If your child is experiencing challenges with attendance, we encourage you to reach out so we can work together to support them.
