Sunflowers with a Twist: Creative Expressions Inspired by Van Gogh

In a vibrant exploration of creativity, Stage 2 students delved into the world of Vincent Van Gogh by creating their own unique interpretations of his iconic sunflower paintings. Using mixed media techniques, students drew inspiration from Van Gogh's "Sunflowers," experimenting with various materials to design their own sunflower artworks. Through this project, they learned about colour theory, composition, and the emotional impact of art, aligning with the NSW Stage 2 Visual Arts syllabus. This hands-on experience allowed students to express their individuality while gaining a deeper appreciation for artistic processes and history.
