KLA Feature - HSIE
We are excited to share some of the many great events, excursions and fun activities that have been happening for HSIE students over the past few months.
Year 10 $20 Boss event
Year 10 Commerce students undertook an enterprise challenge in which they used the small amount of $20 per person to start an enterprise, market their product, and create a profit when selling their product. Many other students were able to reap the benefits of a fun market day that rounded up the program!
Year 12 Canberra Pompeii exhibition excursion
Our Year 12 students took advantage of the arrival in Canberra of some key artefacts from Pompeii and journeyed down together to see them for themselves. The exhibition had a terrific simulation of the eruption of Mt Vesuvius to help us understand the impact of that natural disaster on the people of ancient times.
Year 12 2026 Chau Chak Wing Museum Excursion and Archaeological Dig
Our Year 11 and Year 12 Ancient History students visited the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney, which was a terrific opportunity for our Year 12 students to consolidate their knowledge, working with artefacts that would be useful references in their exam, and also a great introduction to the HSC Syllabus for the Year 11 students.
Year 11 Ancient History students participated in an archaeological dig, uncovering artefacts from Ancient Egypt. Students commented on the variety of artefacts found and speculated on why objects from other societies might be found in an Ancient Egyptian dig site
