Knox Division AFL Girls A CHAMPIONS!

It is with great excitement to announce that our AFL Girls A side was undefeated and CHAMPIONS of the Knox Division AFL Girls Carnival!

Our Girls A team pool games started off well with great victories, as shown below

Pool Game 1: St Simon winners scoring 5.1.31 v 4.1.25 . A close game to begin our journey in the pools games!

Pool Game 2: St Simon winners scoring 7.2.44 v 0. Excellent work in the centre from Eloise from the centre bounce!

Pool Game 3: St Simon winners scoring 38 v 33. A bag of 5 goals from Samia in an amazing effort from the centre half forward!

Pool Game 4: St Simon winners scoring 5.3.33 v 2.2.14. Great on the ball work from Tilly!

In the quarter finals, the girls were pumped to achieve success, making transition kicks towards the players for the mark.

QUARTER FINAL: St Simon winners scoring 6.3.27 v 2.3.15. An overall team effort with centre clearances from Scarlett.

After a short mistake playing half a game against the wrong semi final team, we hurried over to the correct field. Although, girls were waning with fatigue, a strong effort came with kicking the ball into the forward line against the wind. Strong tackles made it harder for the opposing side to clear the ball forwards.

SEMI FINAL: St Simon winners scoring 4.2.26 v 1.1.7. A close game at the start but strong effort from the back line.

Our GRAND FINAL game awaited against a tough side. We had many shots on goal but missed to the left or right. Tackles were getting tricky against a fast team but our girls made sure to kick the ball far and forward to gain possession and the advance to score in the forward line. Once the siren had blown, our girls were filled with joys and excitement as PREMIERS of the competition. We are extremely proud of their teamwork and great sportsmanships on the day! Congratulations girls on your VICTORY! A further shout out to Samia D, best and fairest in our pool games!

Knox Division AFL Girls B 2nd Overall!

🏉 AFL Girls B Sides Shine at Knox Division Carnival! 🏆

Congratulations to our AFL Girls B team for their outstanding performance at the Knox Division AFL Girls Carnival! Facing tough competition from across the Knox schools, the team showed incredible determination and teamwork, many girls giving it a go and enjoying the footy experience.

The B Girls team won 2 and lost 2 of their pool games but took advantage of these games to build their skills and confidence to win their quarter finals and semi final matchups. Although their grand final ended in a loss, they finished as runners-up in a highly competitive division.

Their second-place result is a testament to their effort and passion for the game!

Well done, team – you’ve made our school proud!
