YEAR 9 ART

Spray Can Stories: Street Art in Action
This term, Year 9 Art students dove into the vibrant world of Street Art, exploring the bold styles, powerful messages, and rebellious roots of this urban art movement. After examining works by iconic artists like international artist Banksy and Australia's own Adnate, students were challenged to choose a personal or social theme that mattered to them — from identity and irony to climate change and superheros they relate to.
With sketchbooks full of ideas, they hit the boards (literally!) to bring their visions to life using spray paint techniques, layering stencils, colours, and textures to create their own statement pieces. The result? A dynamic collection of street art that’s as diverse and expressive as the students themselves — turning walls into voices and creativity into impact.
