H2GP PREPARATION

H2GP PREPARATION DAY

Two of our school teams made up of Year 7 and 8 students, headed to Gippsland Tech School on Monday to attend an exciting H2GP Preparation Day! The H2GP is an annual race that features Hydrogen powered RC cars, and pits secondary schools across Victoria against each other to see who can complete the most laps using a limited supply of hydrogen cells over 4 hours.

Students arrived ready to roll with last year's hydrogen cars, only to be surprised with two brand new cars for this season — a huge boost for our new teams, and a motivational kickstart to the project! After a short presentation on the race in July, they jumped straight into setting up the new cars, and discussing teams jobs and strategies.

With four other teams also attending, the atmosphere was full of collaboration. A special shout-out to the Year 12 team from Lavalla Catholic College for generously sharing their knowledge and tips with our younger teams — your support was greatly appreciated!

Massive thanks to Gippsland Tech School for hosting such a valuable event, and especially to our major sponsor, The Martin Carlson Foundation, for their ongoing support of our students and this fantastic program.
