Wellbeing

As part of our wellbeing curriculum this year, students will be exploring the Zones of Regulation—a framework designed to support their social and emotional development and self-regulation skills.
The Zones of Regulation uses evidence-based strategies and engaging activities to help students:
- Recognise and name their emotions
- Understand how their feelings affect their behaviour
- Build a vocabulary of emotional terms
- Read facial expressions and understand others’ perspectives
- Develop a ‘Toolbox’ of calming and problem solving strategies to help regulate their emotions
Students will learn that we all move through different Zones (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red) throughout the day and that none of the Zones are bad. The focus is on recognising how we feel, understanding what’s expected in different situations, and building their toolbox of self-regulation skills.
We look forward to sharing more with you as we progress, and we hope you find the Zones of Regulation helpful in supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing at home.
