Principal's Update

Principal: Milan Matejin

Greetings,

College Awards Afternoon 2025

This year our Bayside P-12 College Awards were once again held at the Paisley Campus Hall. Through the organising committee the college recognised and celebrated our students.  The awards celebrated their achievements and their efforts. The afternoon highlighted our young people who understood the importance of success, perseverance, and of hard work at the highest level.

We celebrated this in nine major categories: Outstanding Academic Achievement, The Performing Arts, Sporting Excellence, The Visual Arts, Leadership, Debating and Public Speaking, Best All-Rounder Award, Tennis Excellence and the STEM Awards.

These awards promote positive qualities in young our people including good behaviour and humble pride. Striving and receiving this recognition strengthens the spirit of competition and reward.  As a young teacher I was fortunate to be mentored by some remarkable, enthusiastic and dedicated staff.  This helped me to also develop into a dedicated and passionate teacher.  I can still remember the faces of students that I taught who also inspired and helped shape me into the educational leader I am today.

I would hope these experiences also helps to shape our students in a similar way as they journey through their learning growing as positive role-models in our college and our community.  They might not choose education as their pathway and instead have other noble ambitions. The recognition of dedication and hard work is in all of us and the opportunity to receive recognition is always there.

During the award ceremony we were privileged to also hear and see our students perform as musicians, singers and dancers.  They showed us how talented they are from the primary to the most senior secondary students in our college. A display from students in the Arts also further highlighted the gifted and prolific talent that is present on all our campuses supported by outstanding, passionate and dedicated staff. The collection of artwork was located in the Paisley Library.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Albee Damincs, a proud young Australian, for sharing her inspiring message with us. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, whose contributions helped make the evening truly special.

A big thank you to our sponsors this year: Minute Man, Dobsons, MSP Photography, Campion, Paperchase – Office National, Williamstown Athletics Club, and Ampol. Your continued support and partnership are greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to our Award Winners for 2025
